We are giving thanks and praise to God for a wonderful launch service last Sunday, March 12. We had twenty-six gather for worship at the Triad Theater, and we were pleased to have several Jewish believers in Jesus among the group. Everything went smoothly in spite of the time change. We began the service by singing "Holy, Holy, Holy" and closed by singing, "O Church, Arise." Bernard preached a sermon called "Beginnings" on John 1:1-18 (which you can hear on our website). It was the first in a sermon series on John 1-12.
We would never have made it to this point without the prayers and financial support of so many of you around the country and in England. Thank you! We still have a long way to go to reach financial stability as a congregation. If you know of anyone who might be interested in giving on a monthly basis to Good Shepherd Anglican Church, would you let them know about us? One-time gifts can still be made through this Gospel Fund page; monthly giving can be set up through our website at www.goodshepnyc.org/donate.
We continue to pray Psalm 90:16-17 as we ask God to bless this new church:
"Let your work be shown to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands!"
