God is writing His story–the greatest story ever told–in village after village in the heart of eastern India. Christ Village explores how God is dramatically at work among the Untouchables in Andhra Pradesh, and how the Gospel is now even advancing into Orissa, widely known as the most violent Hindu state.

"We will no longer offer sacrifices to gods of wood and stone. We will throw out the Hindu priest from our village and worship only Jesus. We are a Christ Village."
Anama is a single mother. She supports her children by working twelve hour days in the rice fields and growing chili peppers. Though there is clean running water nearby, Anama is forbidden to use it, she must carry water for her family from the polluted river more than a mile away. Anama and her children are called Untouchables.
Among India’s 1.3 billion people, more than 160 million of them are deemed to be less than human. Even their shadows are considered polluted. Imprisoned in their Hindu culture, they exist for death. Their only hope is reincarnation into a higher caste. They are unloved, unhelped, and Untouchable.
Chinna’s son is very ill. She has taken him to the Hindu temple and paid exorbitant sums for the priests to offer prayers to all the gods. But the purchased prayers and animal sacrifices have not brought healing. His condition is getting worse.
Pastor Praveen and the Sylom Pastors League, partner with Water of Life International, to provide clean water wells in villages where there are none--wells that everyone can use. They share the love of Jesus with these forgotten souls. Praveen and his pastors choose to ignore threats of death from the RSS–the Indian secret police, run by the most radical and violent of Hindus. Some of their pastors have been beaten and even put to death for teaching Christ in the villages.
Naveen used to offer coconuts and sacrifice animals in his worship of his idol gods, snakes and rats. The torments of his soul only worsened. Today, he has peace through knowing Jesus. Naveen has no more need to offer sacrifices. Now he prays to the one true God, who answers.
Vast numbers of Untouchables have embraced Jesus, clinging to the reality of new hope and new life. Entire villages have chosen to follow Christ alone, destroying their idols, throwing the Hindu priests out of their villages, and declaring, “We are a Christ Village.”
Throughout his years of ministry, Praveen has seen millions of Untouchables accept Christ and be baptized. Pastor Praveen is praying for millions of more souls made new--Christ-followers who will forsake lifeless idols and embrace the Giver of new life.
Amidst persecution God's Kingdom often flourishes, and the simplest and most humble of His servants confound the wise. The power of God accomplishes the seemingly impossible--emboldening the faithful, lifting the hopeless, reconciling the godless. This is the story of Christ Village.
Help share this powerful narrative and vision through a new theatrical-release documentary film that will explore the story of faithful, tireless men who are assigning God the glory as He redeems and transforms this dark land--one Christ Village at a time.
