Join this innovative business-as-mission initiative in a country where traditional Christian missions is difficult to access.
You know Christianity Today as a leading web presence, with multiple sites reaching over four million people and accounting for eight million pageviews each month. What you may not know is that since 2008 our nonprofit ministry has had a second office in Southern Asia where much of our web development and content production takes place.
Christianity Today is involved in an innovative business-as-mission initiative in a region where the Christian faith is rarely seen and accepted and mostly misunderstood, and where there's difficulty of access for traditional missions efforts.
We have partnered with a Christian-run technology company there that adheres to Christian core values—honesty, servanthood, stewardship, and community—all values that are counter-cultural. Christians on the team are servant leaders, missional, intentional, and gospel centered as they interact with their coworkers. Employees see the difference and their lives have been transformed as they come to know Jesus more.
Many Christianity Today projects involve converting hundreds of print articles to digital or coding content for our sites. As team members read our content, they regularly ask questions about what Christianity is about and come to understand who Jesus is more. Over two dozen team members have worked with Christianity Today over the years.
From devotionals, office gatherings, and conversations, staff have a chance to interact with Scripture directly, most of them for the first time in their lives.
Some team members now attend church, and one recently publicly accepted Jesus as a direct result of interacting with our content, seeking answers to questions, and receiving love and acceptance from Christians on the team.
Our stateside team interacts with the overseas office daily, including at least two Skype meetings every week. Staff from both sides have visited the others’ offices for training and development. Each interaction between teams is a chance for them to again feel loved and appreciated, for bonds of friendship to build, and for God to work in new ways.
Important work is being done in Southern Asia—good work that contributes to Christianity Today’s web presence and what you see and read regularly. And kingdom work that is changing the lives of our team members in Southern Asia, their families, and a community that is closed to the gospel thousands of miles away from our ministry offices in Carol Stream, Illinois.
There are no updates for the project yet.
